Bridget's card all the way from Australia

Here is a beautiful card made by Bridget in Australia that appeared in my mailbox.  It sits by my computer daily, a reminder to me that this thoughtful lady from far across the ocean thought of me and sent me this gorgeous card!  Stamped with "Ocean Commotion" stamp set - available in the new catalog, isn't it just the most beautiful card?
    Bridgets-card-redone
I love the color - and the way she used the swirls around the edges - it does remind me of the ocean - and that is where my soul resides as I grew up near the ocean for most of my life.
Being a "military brat", I lived many places, and for many years we lived near the ocean - sometimes right on the ocean, the Pacific in South America, the Atlantic where I spent many, many summers with my grandmother - such precious memories.
This card brings back those special moments - isn't this what stamping from our heart is all about?
Bridget, you'll never know what your card means to me.  Thank you from the bottom of my heart - all the way across the USA and the Pacific ocean -
    God Bless you,
    Martiesiggie

    4th of July Pictures

Stamping?  No, no time for stamping on the fourth.  This is what I was up to:
    Tent-with-us
What else??? Spreading the word about From Our Hearts.  Jefferson Bank of Missouri graciously donated a tent and space at the Salute to America 2009 celebration in downtown Jefferson City.

Isn't this gorgeous?  We live is such a beautiful Capitol city!  This picture was take in the morning before the crowd appeared.
    Tent 2
Our tent was large and we were thankful as it RAINED!!! But we stayed dry, thanks to Jefferson Bank!!
My heartfelt thanks to Jayne Dunkmann, Marketing Officer at Jefferson Bank of Missouri, for donating the tent and space to From Our Hearts.  Your enthusiasm and support of our effort is so appreciated.

    God Bless America

This is dedicated to all of our servicemen and women who serve our country, to their families who support them, and especially to those who are not on America's soil, who cannot enjoy the fireworks, hotdogs and burgers with their families on this, our celebration of liberty of our country. May God continue to keep all of you from harms way and return you safely home to your loved ones. Thank you, all of you, you are giving your all to protect our freedom and making our world a safer place. You are giving your ultimate sacrifice. I am truly grateful.

    Postings, Pictures, cards...

Yes, I've been remiss in posting much of my work as of late as From Our Hearts has taken off like wildfire!  Tomorrow we are setting up our tent at Jefferson City's 4th of July celebration downtown in the Heritage Square section - so stop by to see what we have been up to.

    A cupcake for a birthday

Our very dear grandaughter is turning ... well, she may not want her age published so her card will be, instead!

Here it is - can you tell that that my stamping style is going back to the basics?  Yes, I am into clean, simple, yet elegant cards.  My time is precious, my time to stamp is limited.... Jessicas-bd-card

This card is so easy to make - I actually stamped the cupcake image from Crazy for Cupcakes stamp set on 6 pieces and colored them with the markers so they are ready to mount onto 5 other cards when needed.  Putting the cards together is a snap.

Jessica, happy birthday!  We wish we could be with you today on your very special day.

    Library creations

As promised, I'm posting cards made at the Stampin' From the Heart for the Troops event library last Sunday - yes, it took me a little while to find the time to get these scanned in, cropped, and ready for the website!
2 different styles of cards were made, but many different variations of each were created.  Here is a sampling:
First, made with a retired set called "Text & Texture"  (I have the "Life is Good" decor element that coordinates with one of these stamps on my back windshield of my car!):
    Library-You-and-me
This is a two step stamping technique - stamped in chocolate chip and mounted on pink pirouette & chocolate chip.  This card was also created in Baja Breeze (had to create his & hers for the soldiers!)
    Library-just-because
The Just Because card is made with the same stamp set, different saying.  This is the Baja Breeze version.  These were made in the Pink Pirouette as well.

The next two cards are a made from retired DSP and Carte Postale, a retired set (both from the last catalog).  The difference between the two (besides the paper) is in the center of the medallion:
    Library-just-wanted-w-butto
This card has a button from "button latte" collection.
    Library-just-wanted-you-to-
The card above was made using a Rich Regal (So Saffron) brad in the center.
These are trifold cards, meaning that they open in the middle.  The saying stamped inside is "just wanted to you to know how special you are", again from a very old SU! retired stamp set.  I have been digging these stamp sets out and using my oldies but goodies!

Stampin' From the Heart for the Troops is a monthly event held at the Missouri River Regional Library, usually the second Sunday of the month.  It is free to the public.  Check my calendar of events for the next date/time - and join us for a few hours, making cards for the troops.  All are donated to From Our Hearts
