I received this most gracious letter from the commander of Seal Team Five in Iraq, thanking me for sending over our handcrafted cards. An excerpt from his letter: "...the guys loved them, equally important, our loved ones back home loved them even more! Your considerate gesture went a long way to improve our morale and make our time here more enjoyable."
This letter is addressed to me, but it is for all of you who help me with this *mission*, Stampin' From the Heart for the troops. I have received others and will post those when I have time.
We are making a difference, one card at a time. Without your support, your donations of cards, card fronts, envelopes, clear envelopes and cash to help defray the cost of shipping, none of this would be possible.
To date, over 9,000 cards have been mailed. Many more wait in boxes in my Stampin' Studio, waiting for envelopes and clear envelopes. I have a group of volunteers who assist me in preparing these cards to be mailed over - in addition to my very supportive husband.
The cost of mailing a box is just under $12 and I place as many cards in a box as will fit. I thank those of you who have been able to assist with financial contributions to this cause.
My heartfelt thanks to Susan T. who spends many, many hours with me helping to prepare these boxes and to my group of volunteers who transform your card fronts into cards and who also match donated cards with envelopes and place them in the clear envelopes. It is because of their untiring devotion to this *mission* that boxes are sent over regularly.
"Thank you" are just two little words, but they come from my heart.
