July 18 cardmaking event

Here is the first of several pictures of our July 18 Holiday cardmaking event held at HyVee in Jefferson City this past Saturday:

This is our From Our Hearts Banner, displayed on the window - what a feat it was to get it up!
We had one hour to set up 11 tables:

But with many hands, the work went quickly.  Thanks to Tom, Diana, Dave, Debbie, Justin, Susan...and several others who just came to help.

This is Susan and Debbie L, an SU! demonstrator who found out about this event, called, and offered her assistance.  Of course I said "YES!!!!"

Hodgepodge Hardware deal of the week

Preview of Saturday's Holiday Cardmaking Event

Finally, a sneak peek of what we are making this  Saturday, July 18 at the Holiday cardmaking event at HyVee, W Truman Blvd from 1 pm to 5 pm.  11 cards we'll be making ... over 1,300 cards total.

No experience is required.  Come experience the joy of giving back to all our servicemen and women who are serving our country and defending our freedom.  All cards are donated to From Our Hearts - all supplies, cardstock...everything needed to make these cards are donated.  The only thing missing is YOU!

Halloween plus

It's beginning to look like Halloween around the homefront and it is only July!  Halloween was the focus of the Stampn' From Our Hearts for Our Troops at the library this past Sunday - and over 100 cards made - here is just one:

Using the same fall ribbon, one industrious, creative stamper created this beauty:

I always forget something when I pack up and true to style, Sunday was no exception.  This time?  Pacific Point ribbon to go on this card!  No big deal...this ribbon goes beautifully with the more mustard and certainly celery, don't you think?  Great job, Christa!
My thanks to Kari M. in Michigan for making our work "light" by providing the embellishments, ready to be added to the projects.  There are still about a dozen left - they'll wait for another day!
All cards are donated to From Our Hearts to be sent to our servicemen and women serving overseas for them to write in to send to their loved ones.
This is a free monthly event, open to the public - next one will be mid August, always held on a Sunday afternoon.  Plan to join us next month!

Stamping at the library - Halloween style

What?  Is it fall already????  It's not too early to think of Halloween, especially when making cards to send to our servicemen and women who are serving our country ! ! ! This is what we worked on this past Sunday at the Missouri River Regional Library at our monthly Stamping from Our Hearts for Our Troops free stamping event.

Stampin' From the Heart free events

The letters are die cut out of designer paper, using Sizzlits Decorative Strip Die "Stampin' Up! Billboard", item #114510, $21.95.  The bird is die cut from the Sizzlit 4-pack die "Stampin' Up! Birds and Blooms". She ran the bird through twice, cutting it out of solid cardstock as well as designer paper for the 3-d wing!  How clever!!!
