A very special card for a very special man

I can finally post this special card as it has been delivered ... to no other than the very special man in my life, my husband!   Nowhere on the card does it say "happy father's day", except for my note inside to him.  This card can be used for a multitude of occasions.  Colors:  Ruby Red, Always Artichoke and Creamy Caramel.

Can you tell this is just one stamp used?  How versatile our stamps are - add our hodgepodge hardware and a plain stamp to ink to paper takes on a different look altogether.  The background uses a retired background stamp "weathered" stamped with Creamy Caramel (just love that background stamp and can't seem to part with it - it gives it a masculine look!)

And here is the result, a quick and easy card using punches!  Try it, you'll find you can make dozens of these in no time.  This is a great card for the stamper who has precious few minutes to stamp.
Simple yet effective - dress it up with some dazzling diamonds, change the colors - use your imagination!  This one is going to someone very special!

Par-Fect Father's Day Dabbling

One more dabble for the day.  This one is another card that was easy to pull together as the "And Many Mower" stamp set #113724 is just too "Par-Fect" for the perfect man in your life!  I've used DSP Delicate Dots from Sale-A-Bration and So Saffron ribbon that I earned for free as well.  The Basic Small Grommets #114349 are from the new Occasions Mini Catalog, page 19, a bargain at $6.95 - you get 60 pieces!  I stamped & colored the golf ball, punched it out with the 1/4" circle punch and it is adhered in the center of the grommet.

Father's Day Dabbling

I've been busy creating Father's Day cards and have had help from my friend, Susan, in creating the one below:

I pulled out a retired set for the saying, and used some DSP from Sale-A-Bration, as well as the Certainly Celery ribbon that I just fell in love with!
The grommets are the new jumbo grommets from the current Occasions Mini catalog.  These grommets are perfect for a masculine feel, don't you think?
The edges of the saying & matting are distressed, and a bit of ink sponged along the torn edge of the DSP lends itself to making this card have more of a masculine feel.
I struggle with making cards for men as I am more of a frills-type stamper.  I have to stretch my boundaries a bit and think out of my comfort zone when Father's Day rolls around!

RAK...yes, he mowed our lawn!  This is my special way of thanks - I am indebted to him for one less stress at the time when it was needed the most.
Here is a very special card for a very special person.  And how timely that Stampin' Up! has come out with a stamp with a lawnmower on it!  I embossed the lawnmower, then watercolored using blender pens.

And why is this so easy?  Get inspiration from the new idea book and catalog.  Note that the Stampin' Up! catalog isn't just called a catalog.  It is an *idea* book!

Now look at my card.  Notice the similarities?  Yet so different.  Try it out for yourself.  Then you, too can come up with an original card, designed by YOU!  This card is made with the Baroque Motifs stamp set and the Vanilla Hodge Podge hardware.  I think the colors lend itself to a nice, masculine card.
