Monthly Technique Class

Join us this Saturday, October 10 at 10:30 to learn a new technique.  This class is held monthly in my Stampin' Studio, typically the second Saturday of each month.  Each month, a new technique is featured.

Cost:  $5, refundable with an order placed.

This month's technique is highlighting "Roll with the Punches" - a fun, easy way to use your Stampin' Around wheels.  I guarantee you're going to LOVE this new, innovative way of stamping!

Belle cards

When I posted that I'm back, that I've been busy, now you can see why!  These cards are just 5 of 6 designs that were created for our card making event yesterday at the First Christian Church in Belle.  And these are the cards the ladies made:

The card on the far left is called an "inchies" and I cannot take credit for it - it is CASED from my downline, Pat, who shared it with us at our last downline meeting.  And the ladies in Belle thought this one was the best out of all of them!

174 cards made!  All in support of our troops.  These cards were created and donated to From Our Hearts compliments of Lisa B. and 9 other brand new stampers in the Belle/Bland area who provided the funds in support of this effort.

And of course, a great big thank you to my downline, Susan T for the many, many hours spent with me, helping to figure out colors, stamp sets, etc. and organizing the multitude of cards received so that I have room enough to cut all of the cardstock for events such as this!!!  I don't know what I would do without her support.

Stampin' Up Regional Convention

This a picture of Shelli Gardner, cofounder & CEO of Stampin' Up!, and of course, me!  I was fortunate to meet her at the KC Regional Convention.  She is all that I have heard her to be, a very caring, compassionate, and down to earth woman!

She was at the convention - the entire day, actively participating, even demonstrating a very cool project on stage for all of us.

Shelli took time to sit with me and chat about my "Stampin' From the Heart for the Troops" and even provided me with some much needed advice (at my request of course!)  Can I say that she was focused and genuinely interested?

I truly believe that she lives the "statement of the heart":

"To love what we do and share what we love, as we help others enjoy creativity and worthwhile accomplishments . . . in this we make a difference!"

I thank you, Shelli!  Your kind words have touched my heart.

Finally, some time to stamp!

Here it is, my challenge to create a card that will be sent to the troops.  One that expresses, what I think, the troops can use.  I can see a soldier pulling this one out of the box and sending it to his wife or girlfriend who is waiting, patiently for his safe return.

This was quick and easy, using the Eastern Blooms stamp set.  The saying is from the stamp set that I received at the Kansas City Regional Convention - Best Wishes & more.  Colors are Kiwi Kiss (new in-color), stamped on Whisper White and Not Quite Navy.  One rhinestone brad that matches the Kiwi Kiss perfectly sits in the center of the flower.  The ribbon is the new double sided Kiwi Kiss/Very Vanilla - I adore this ribbon.  And of course, I have to use the punches!  This one is the designer label punch, the first I've used it!

Haiku Happy Birthday

Here is the first of many, many cards that I will be posting.    This one was created last night - it was a card that I had "in my head" - not yet made but envisioned and it turned out better than I imagined it would:

                                                

It uses punches, punches and more punches.  Did I tell you I'm a punch freak?  Yes, I love punches  - they make cardmaking fun and quick.  Upsy Daisy and Ginormous Flowers stamp sets were used and the new Haiku DSP & in-color Tangerine Tango - love those colors!!!  Especially for the fall and it is getting quite nippy out.  This color combination is old olive, tangerine tango and so saffron.  They work so well together.  Leave it to SU! to color coordinate everything!
